The Black South West Network is a BME led infrastructure organisation, working for racial equality across the South West.
In 2020 I supported BSWN on a piece of research commissioned by Bristol City Council, Power to Change Trust and Quartet Community Foundation. The research aimed to analyse the impact of COVID-19 on the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector in order to assess how to foster greater community resilience in the new operating environment, and ultimately provide evidence for a thoroughly informed overall Sector strengthening recovery strategy.
In this role, my main responsibility was to help support the main researchers of this project collect data and write the report. My work ranged from data analysis, facilitating and organising interviews, secondary research, transcribing interviews and writing thematic summaries as well as helping to collate a research report and leaflet to send to their database to keep people up to date with their work and findings.
